01The screen or camera is missing

Check that the intended screen, window, or camera is selected in Fancy Rec. Then check the app’s permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Enable only the sources you need and follow any prompt to reopen the app.

Make a new short recording after changing permissions. An earlier take that did not capture a source will not gain that missing footage afterwards.

02There is no sound, or an echo

Confirm the microphone input and whether system audio was enabled. Record one spoken sentence and a short piece of app playback, then review each source in the editor.

If audio repeats or echoes, use headphones so speaker playback does not enter the microphone again. If the editor has sound but the shared file does not, check the format: GIF is silent.

03I paid, but export is unavailable

Check that the Mac app uses the account associated with the checkout email, then check your billing page for an active subscription or trial. If the purchase has just completed, let the payment confirmation finish and refresh the account status.

If access still appears inactive, reconnect to the internet and sign in again with the same account. Do not buy a second subscription as a troubleshooting step. Keep the receipt or order reference when contacting support.

Both plans support 3 personal Macs. When changing computers, sign in on the intended Mac rather than copying login tokens from another device. Never send a password or login token with a support request.

04Export fails or the output is hard to read

Keep the original project. Check available disk space and that the chosen output folder can be written to. Try a shorter recording or a smaller output using the settings offered by your version to help isolate the issue.

If text is too small, reduce empty screen area, increase the app’s text size before a new take, or adjust zoom. Enlarging an already blurry recording will not restore detail. If GIF is too large, shorten the loop or reduce output size.

05Prepare a useful support report

Record the Fancy Rec version, macOS version, steps to reproduce, expected result, and the exact error message. Say whether the issue happens in every project or one recording.

Share only the minimum example needed through an official support channel linked from the website. Remove private content from screenshots; do not post payment details, recordings with personal data, or credentials in a public community.
